So, purely hypothetically, if someone had watched Durrel’s “My Family and other Animals” in the 1980s and had wanted to visit a perfect unspoiled greek island ever since, where would be the best place now to try and find that sort of scenic beauty?

And would the answer change if you had to factor in entertaining a 3 year old whilst there?

I know nothing at all about that part of the world, but am having idle hot-place-holiday thoughts on a frosty february morning and just wondered if anyone could give me hints on what to google?

Corsica is the nearest I've found.

Gooood question - i have a romanticised idea of a private villa-type thing, but probably unachievable. As I said, this is mostly wishful thinking rather than practical planning.
