Azores islands which one?

Has anyone been to the Azores? If so which island would you recommend and what to do there? TIA

I've been to the Azores and stayed on San Miguel for the whole week.
How long do you want to go for? What are your main interests?
We went out on the RIBs, hired a driver to take us round the island for two half days, did lots of walking and then some more round all the churches. Lazed by the pool and realised that we were much further south than our sun cream could cope with! Also saw the tea plantation, pineapple farm and all the hydroelectric power systems. The joys of going off the beaten path.
Plus all the normal sights.

We went for a week and stayed in San Miguel. We stayed in the islands oldest B&B as part of a riding holiday so we saw all the lagoons on horseback. Best holiday ever.

We stayed on San Miguel as well, in Ponta Delgada. We hired a car and drove all over. It is very interesting and really pretty, and there is loads to see.
