With the mind of using it as a base to explore area rather than spending whole time in the parc.

We’ve used them a few years back. We went every year at Easter but I can’t remember which one is which. We always loved our holidays which we did with another family. There were 14 of us in total. We always hired bicycles as we all get stir crazy in the plastic bubble world of centre parcs.
One had a lovely tow path ride to a floating restaurant on an old boat. We went to a Norbetine Abbey that was beautiful and ate in a cafe that served vast numbers of eggs with everything. We cycled out to local towns/villages for lunches or supper (or sometimes just an ice cream).
One had a few lakes set in almost a country park closeby. I’d always say go and explore a little.

We've been to Parc Eifel in Germany (fairly new, not that many trees so has a different look to typical CP) and De Kempervennen in Holland ( reminded me of the Sherwood Forest one). From Eifel we found plenty of things in the region - Trier is a pretty town to visit. The weather was rubbish in Holland so we didn't do much exploring although we did manage to visit a windmill!
