Where in the world to go for 3/4 weeks in September?

Have plenty of air miles to use up, so somewhere far away would be great. China? Australia?

Or does anyone else have recommendations for Late August-Late September?

You may struggle to get an air miles flight to Australia. Very few available.

We collect Avios and often go in the Autum. We have managed to get flights to South Africa, China and USA both California and Las Vegas for Utah and Arizona.

Other times of the year we have flown to India, Brazil, Japan, and we are going to Argentina in 6 weeks.

Depending who you are spending the air miles with, you can usually phone up to see what flights are available and buy extra air miles if you need to. BA have been very helpful when we have contacted them.

I always book well in advance as we also get companion flights so I am very keen to get the flights using these when they arrive.

September is a good time to visit China, starting to cool down, but the mid autumn festival weekend will be busy and prices will increase towards the end of the month and the start of the national holiday on 1st October.
What about South Korea?
Japan?
Lots of areas in SE Asia not quite out of the rainy season then, although good weather in Malaysian Borneo and central Vietnam. Have been to Java in July, so worth checking if still dry in August.
For Australia -recommend Tasmania. Northern part of WA is hot and dry in our summer and you could explore the Kimberley.

We went to Canada, flew into Vancouver and hired a 5th wheel for 10 days (wish we had it for longer) then took the train across to Toronto

Ditto to Borneo! Just got back and it was fantastic. Lots of wildlife, great food and good weather in Sept!

I used this for my planning before I went www.amazon.com/Lonely-Planet-Borneo-Travel-Guide/dp/1742202969?tag=mumsnetforum-21

The Forest Reserve was the highlight of my trip - it's a bit remote but we got to see the clouded leopard and the kids loved it www.seeksophie.com/activities/telupid-forest-reserve

Japan, beautiful in autumn, lovely weather, trees look amazing, blue sky and lovely temperature.

Vancouver, go to Torino, best place in the world!
