New York - things for a 6 year old

DP is taking DD to New York for 10 days I am NOT jealous at all, what are the best things for them to do? She loves museums and history and space and all the usual 6yo things. Any good restaurants for families too?

Also, they'll be going on a road trip with his friend, if anyone knows the child seat laws over there that would be ace, then he'll know what to buy ready

I've been twice and loved doing the Empire State Building & Rockefeller. Statue of Liberty also very good. My mum did the high line which they thought was really good (we didn't get time). Central Park is lovely, could maybe do Central Park zoo?

The Radio City Music Hall tour is a must. The road trip doesn’t sound much fun for a 6 year old! How far are they going?

Central Park playground and Alice In Winderland statue is worth a look too.

We went last year when DS2 was 6...he absolutely loved it.

Ice Skating at Bryant Park (much quieter than CP-DS2 ended up skating with loads of NY teenagers who thought he was fab!)
He also enjoyed Madame Taussards

Would she like the American Girl shop? I have boys but we walked past it and it looked amazing.
