Jersey?

Has anyone been, would you recommend it? Will we get bored there for 10 days (me, DH, 1 year old DS, grandparents)

Any other tips for very short haul holidays would be great too

Just lovely, gorgeous beaches, nice walks, lots of good food, interesting places to discover...and the best crab sandwiches I have ever eaten (a sort of shack restaurant on a beach on the north coast), so no, we didn't get bored it was just right for ten days. Oh and beautiful moo cows and jersey royals everywhere, I'd love to go back 😎

I've been to Jersey a few times - I think 10 days would be too long for me unless it was the height of summer and I could spend the days on the beach

What about the Scilly Isles?

Ha both useful posts though.

Scilly Isles too far for me, I'm up north so would be flying to jersey if we went.

I'd choose the Isle of Wight over th Channel Islands any day.

Anyone who is worried about there not being enough to do on Jersey for 10 days should not go to the Scilly Isles! The Scillies are very beautiful and have a lovely relaxed way of life but they’re tiny compared to Jersey and there is almost nothing to do that’s not outdoors (other than eating and drinking).

When our DS1 was 5 months we had a 10 day holiday in Jersey. It was just me, DH and DS1. And the 10 days were easily spent, I don't remember being bored or struggling for things to do. We had a car and drove around a lot and stopped at the interesting spots. And just mooched around and took long walks on the coast line with the pram.

If you struggle to keep busy you could do a day trip to Guernsey too, it's smaller but the landscape is different and IMO it's a prettier island. Or go to France, I'm sure there used to be day trips to St. Malo too.
