So this May, we have been invited to spend ten days with our friends in Spain. DS will be 14 months by that time and I can't seem to think of anything else to pack but a sun cream and swimming nappies 😩 Is the sun suit essential? Please be kind as I'm a first time mum and never had any younger siblings or cousins to learn from Blush thank you for your help ladies! Smile

Calpol, if you have it with you hopefully you won't need it. I have memories of scouring spanish resorts on a sunday morning trying to find the one open chemist.

Oh how wonderful. Yes a swim suit is needed I always buy a sun suit that has shorts and a top as easy to change swim nappies when wet. Also pack calpol and any medication you may need. Then any special toys/blanket child needs. Then clothes for you all. You will be able to buy most things out there. Have a great trip.

@Carrie
Know that feeling well. Also trying to translate to get correct calpol.
What about buggy? Car seat ?

BubblesBuddy · 02/02/2018 00:22

Yes to a sun suit. You can get sun burn by sun reflected off the water.

The obvious: make a list! Essentials are passport, money, bookings and tickets, that sort of thing. Even for a baby!

Then those handy to have things: clothes! You will be able to buy anything you don’t have. It’s only Spain! Not the Arctic. So warm weather clothes, sun hat, jacket for colder evenings, bottles, cuddly toy, entertainment for long wait in airport, car seat if needed etc. Check what food you can take!

Sun suit and hat as near peak UV. Cream repeatedly on exposed skin. In shade 11-3.

Don't forget to put baby on travel insurance.

Thank you so much ladies! I think our friends may have the car seat as we would be picked up from the airport (our little ones are similar age) and I'll just probably buy a cheap stroller in case it does get damaged to put it on the plane. As in for sun suits I'll have a look for a two piece one as I can imagine it's easier to change the nappy Grin

Car seat

Buggy, even our fairly decent walker was shattered by the heat and happy to rest in the buggy

Small first aid kit so you don’t have to rush around. Calpol/nurofen, plaster, antibiotic cream, thermometer and a travel insurance

Sun hats, ideally the legionaire style with the flappy back and more than one

We had Uv suits for playing in the sand but DD hated them when she was in the water. Saying that we were in the sea or a cold pool, not a heated hotel baby pool. For the cold pool we had a Neopren suit, that worked well.

Loose clothing, hooded towel ponchos

Take his favourite snacks you don’t need a fridge for.
