Holiday in Europe with teenagers

Hi everyone

I'm looking to book a holiday in Europe in August. I have two teenage boys, 17 and 14. We have always stayed in private villas/apartments but I thought this year we would try a hotel as there will be more for them to do and other kids for them to mix with. I have just tried doing a web search and am so confused as every hotel has a mixed review on Travel Advisor. Can anyone recommend anywhere they have been? I am open to anywhere in Europe.

Thanks

missoptimistic- have you thought about doing something more like a holiday club (club med, mark warner, sun sail etc). Just a suggestion as it is a bit better geared up for kids of that age to have things to do /people to meet of their own age (check that they do clubs into the teen age range). Friends have been to ones in greece, turkey, italy and kids seem to have a great time.

Just from experience that there is nothing worse on holiday than a bored teenager.

Thnaks for that. I'll take a look. You're right bored teenagers are a no no!

Mine (now 20 and 15) have liked to stay in bed a long time - so DH and I go out and do our own thing at least in the mornings. They also like to have access to a swimming pool, sauna and snooker table. You might find an apartment block that has these facilities - we have found one in the Pyrenees for this year but can't yet recommend as we haven't been as yet! (N.B. 20 year old is not joining us this year - he is working and holidaying at music festivals etc, but we will probably take a friend for the 15 year old!)

Thanks Lilymaid. Googled some search words and have come up with a good compromise. Villaplus.com do rental villas with their own pools but also with PS2's, pool tables and table tennis tables etc. satellite, dvd's in each villa so they'll be occupied and we can have some us time as well
