Any tips on when to book, how to keep the costs down, what experience is worth booking/ what is not? I’ve been thinking about going for 4 years now and I think it’s this year or it’s too late (DD will just turn 8 soon before Christmas).
Is it worth it in general? It’s two of us going.

Ahhh! Just lost a long post.

We went to Ruka and I booked trips locally to Father Christmas, huskies and we went skiing. We went with Crystal and it was 3200 for 4 of us for a week. It was half the price of a trip with Canterbury travel and we even upgraded our apartment.

Father Christmas was a genuinely lovely warm and gentle man. He was so lovely to my daughter and insisted she sing a song she had plagiarised written for him. You toboggan in his garden and make gingerbread and sweets buns with mother Christmas. The big guy signs cards and gives a small gift and you sing songs and spend loads of time with him. Really lovely.

Search Ruka on here as I've written about it a few times.

Crystal ski, but you don't have to!
