Travelling with Medication

I’m travelling with my DM on a domestic UK flight next month (Birmingham to Belfast).

She needs to take two days worth of prescription medication with her (approx 8 tablets).

I’ve been in contact with the airline who say that she needs a list of her meds from her GP - that’s no problem, however they also say that the meds must all be in their original boxes. Well DM puts all hers into one of those plastic pill cases with the days marked on, so doesn’t have the original boxes.

Does anyone know if this will cause a problem at security please?

I take 4 different meds and I've never been asked about them at security.

I also put mine in a little 7-day dispenser box, and last time, I peeled the dispensing labels off the med boxes and stuck them on the bottom of the dispenser.

If you're going next month, might she be getting another prescription before then, so you could take them in the original pack?

Not being much help, sorry!

I take meds and keep them in my hand luggage in the original packaging I also put them in the little plastic bags they provide and have never been stopped.
I think if MIL were to cut out eight tablets on a strip for the flight or bring bottles for the flight then she can always decant them into a 7 day pill dispenser at the other two end just to be on the safe side?

Security don't really care unless you have a whole suitcase full of unidintified pills then it would look strange. They only mind if it is liquid (over 100 mil) medication and you don't have a gp letter.
