I'm looking to go away with a group of friends to somewhere in Brittany. Any recommendations for areas near a beach? Also, recommendations for house rental companies? Thanks.

carnac would always be my ideal place. lovely choice of beaches and near vannes/auray if i got bored of beaches.

I've lived near Vannes in South Brittany (About half an hour from Carnac) for 15 years. I've loads of information for our gite guests - where to go/eat/shop/best beaches/walks etc etc which I'll happily send you if this area is of interest?

jenpatronus I’m also looking for a gite in this area for the whole summer (yours is fully booked I saw) and I wondered if you have any recommendations? It must have WiFi so dh can wfh. Family of 4 :)

Misty9 I think your problem may be that you want it for the whole summer - anywhere that has the whole summer free now might not be somewhere you'd actually want to stay iyswim! Wink Would you consider a couple of places for a few weeks each? Other than wifi is there anything else you need? (pool/village etc)

We stayed in Carantec (not Carnac)! a few years ago. It was a very small town, but by the sea and breathtakingly beautiful Shock

A short and scenic drive to the larger town of Morlaix

We would be okay with two bases I think. It’d only be about a month for August I think. Pool not necessary but walking distance to bakery/shop would be good, and less than 10-15minute drive to beach or lakeside beach :)

Misty9 I'll pm you my friend's place - she does Chambre de Hotes and rents it all as a gite. The photos don't really do it justice, it's lovely (and OH built the treehouse deck in the back bedroom!)

Thanks for the help.
