So far most of my options are Cape Coral and rotunda. Anyone stayed at either of these and got any advice

hi twinsetandpearls, I have booked a villa on Rotunda for October half term. I did loads of research and spent hours/weeks searching for a villa. If you go to Tripadvisor Florida discussion forums and type Rotunda or Cape Coral into the search facility: try this link then you can read some questions that myself and others have posted. Similarly try the search option on the US Florida 'Talk' facility on the Fodors website and search "gulf coast villa" or "cape coral" etc for previous discussions. You have to select the US State from the small scroll down box on the top right of the screen.
Hope this helps.
Here's a link to the villa that we have booked: here .
Hope this is helpful. When do you plan on going?

this is the one I am in the middle of booking

WE discounted lots with white fabric sofas as I had visions off dd fingers and my deposit disapearing!

I like the villa you are booking too. In fact I remember it from my own search but I was looking for a villa with Playstation or XBox to keep the kids (12 and 9) busy whilst dh and I had a lie in, a snooze by the pool or whilst I was cooking. Wise move with the sofa . How old is your dd? I know it's a little way off but I would love to hear back from you after you have been to see what you thought of the region. Feel free to CAT me.

DD is five, I had thought of the playstation idea as well although my mum and sister are coming so she has four adults to take it in turns to entertain her.

We are also booking a villa near disney.

Happy to let you know how we get on.

That would be great twinsetandpearls
I hope you have a wonderful holiday. We are not doing Disney this time although we might head up to Busch Gardens theme park for the day. We haven't been any further down the Gulf Coast than Tampa/tT Petes/Clearwater before so I don't know too much about the region. Have you been to Florida before?

twinsetandpearls · 01/05/2007 23:57

yes I used to spend my summers in Florida but have never done disney orlando.

We stayed in Cape Coral at Easter, don't bother. The beach area is tiny. We spent all our time driving over to Sanibel where it costs $6 to get on the island. If we had known we'd have gone somewhere with a proper coast.
