Ds1 wants to go to the Bristol Old Vic for his birthday trip but there is nothing on for children atm. Where can I take him that is just as grand?

A modern looking theatre would be no good. We're in Wiltshire and his birthday is in early May.

chitty chitty bang bang is on until June at the Bristol Hippodrome.

OR the secret garden is on in may at the Olympus theatre (filton college) but not sure what that looks like and its quite a modern one.

How old is he? Theatre Royal, Bath has Noddy later in May (if you could stand it) and the Gruffalo's Child right at the end...

He's going to be 8 and I fear he would consider Noddy and The Gruffalo's Child very much beneath him.
What is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang like? Is it a musical? He's not keen on those.
But he does LOVE impressive architecture and grandeur of any kind. The Hippodrome would probably impress him.

chitty is a musical.

Supposed to be very good, but might not be his style.

What about Bath as a daytrip lokking at the Roman baths, the crescent etc and having a nice lunch?

TooTicky · 28/04/2007 23:16

Maybe, maybe...

If he likes architecture etc - why not a day trip to Cardiff Castle?

Thanks for the idea. He'd probably love it but he really wants to see a play as well.
