Lanzarote in February. Have you been ?

Due to various reasons, the only possible destination is Lanzarote (husband wouldn't do long hauls, only 9days of Holidays, would rather not go to cold destination as it's cold here 😁)
DD is 4 and DS is 14 months.
Going mid Feb. Family friendly hotel well rated by families on travel advice website. Weather expected to be 18 at best.

My question is, have you been in a similar position? Was it warm enough to let the kids play on the beach (not necessarily swim)? Are kids brands (snacks, nappies, wipes) available on the Spanish island?

Any feedback would be greatly helpful. Thanks

I am in the grotty UK unfortunately. That is a photo from yesterday from a FB group. The temps on weather apps are in the shade, if you get some sunshine it will feel a lot hotter.

So jealous. We all loved Lanzarote. Why does it generally have a bad reputation?! We found it gorgeous and really clean.

I have no idea Confused

I went lanzarote a few years ago in February and it was windy and freezing. Put me off going back but may of been where we were. Tenerife in February was similar. Fuerteventura last year December was so cold we sunbathed with clothes on. Cold wind. Don't let me put you off though think it's pot luck there in the winter and can be hot.

Ive been at the beginning of March. It's definitely warm enough to sit on the beach/round a pool in shorts and t-shirts. It's only really the wind which makes it a little cool.

Evenings are cooler, you'll need long trousers and a jumper/light scarf.

You can easily buy pampers nappies and huggies wipes. Swim nappies are a Spanish brand, but absolutely fine (actually better than the ones we have at home
IMO). Most British brands of cereal also available. More expensive than at home, but not ridiculously so.

Yes fleeces and long trousers required for mornings and evenings. Go prepared. We didn't one year and froze.

23 deg will be in the sun at 3pm. But nice, huh ?

I really don't understand the bad reputation it has. It's a lovely place. I wonder whether it's just unfortunate that people think it's funny to call it Lanzagrotty?

Lanzarote is my favourite Canary island. Our youngest was 4 when we first took the DDs. Lots of lovely cafes and flat promenades to stroll along. We tend to be out and about people, not play on the beach though, so we always have a hire car. Get an all in one for your eldest so you don't need to worry so much about burning as the sun will be stronger than it feels. We are thinking of packing a wetsuit for DD so if the pool is chilly she might still swim.
