DH wants an "Adventure Holiday"........

In the process of booking our summer holiday.

Initially thinking of a Greek beach holiday, AI.

Now DH is saying that something more active, sporty would be good. Our DCs (9 and 11) are both sporty.

Where would I find an active/sporty holiday? We've done Center Parcs.

Can't he come up with a few ideas if it's his idea?Smile what about canoeing or rock climbing? Could do those in some nice beachy hot places

Mark Warner, Neilson, trip to the Alps with hiking, biking and white water rafting? PGL if you are wanting a group activity.

Alps? Somewhere like Alpe d’Huez has loads of ‘adventure’ stuff in the summer.

bluetrees · 20/01/2018 09:58

A lot of winter ski resorts become adventure holiday resorts in the summer.

We did a summer holiday in the French alps - Morzine. There was lots going on - chair lifts and gondolas open to get to the mountain tops for hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, canoeing, horse riding, a tobogganing run. The town had a brilliant outdoor pool with slides. Loads of nice restaurants. Still a bit of the apres ski vibe, without the snow. Also can visit Geneva and Evian etc. Kids absolutely loved it, one of our favourite holidays.

What's Neilson?

Tour company like Mark Warner. They have sites in Greece, Turkey, Croatia et al with water sports, kids activities and excursions.

We are doing Simply Morzine this summer. Looks fab - catered hotel with a pool and activities a plenty ( although at extra cost) . Price - including transfers but not flights - £650 per adult and £525 per child.
Did price up Neilson but was minimum £5000 for the week in summer.
