Looks like we might finally be going on a family holiday - our 1st - and I thought Club Med would be a good choice as some clubs have lots of activities for the dc. Anyone have any suggestions? Thx

definitely book through avantegarde travel, as they do Mark Warner and Club Med discounts. There used to be a mumsnet link, lots of people have used them.

Well after having looked at the prices, we may have to rethink our holiday plans! whew!

they are a bit costly tbh, but supposed to be very good. If you are wanting to be very active I think they are ideal, but if it's just the LOs then probably no need. Why not book a family friendly hotel somewhere else, that has kids activities etc.? If you think of somewhere you like the idea of and then search for a hotel in the area. TBH kids clubs are a great fall back plan, but most of the time mine want to be at the pool with us, and might spend an hour or 2 at the kids club. Hotel chains that are pretty good with kids clubs, play areas etc are Iberostar and H10 (That I've used). We are going away this august to Costa De La Luz, 4 of us and the hotel is costing us £980 half board for a week (which is really reasonable). It just takes a bit of searching about. Good Luck

Gingermonkey or anyone else, if you can recommend somewhere (anywhere!) where there's a decent beach with some waves, a pool, some activities for children ages 3-7 and no cooking or cleaning for me, I'd be grateful forever! Just looked at one Club Med site that we could drive to & it's almost £3000 for one bloody week!!! Help!
