As I'd quite fancy that

A kinderhotel in Austria. You really needed an ebike round those parts.

New Forest has a couple of places, and it's great for cycling.

Austria might be outside our league

We might make the new forest

We have bikes but we can't train & cycle with luggage easily

Isle of Mull ... loads of other amazing holiday things to do, as well.

Morzine in France had about 10 shops you can hire them from. Plus I believe Les Gets had a municipal hire scheme which is free / low cost.

Thanks

Thinking about it we have 2 sets of travel bags - I wonder how many days we could pack for?

I imagine shoes will be the killer!!

Loads across the Lake District. A couple of projects are providing them to hire. Look at the MORECAMBE Bay electric bike network or golakes.co.uk

Really?

The more we look into this the more we fancy taking our bikes and going by train

I have a range of about 25 miles on my electric bike so that should get us a fair way around

We are just working out how much stuff we actually need (thank goodness for a Kindle) and whether we need rucksacks (well for DH) and maybe a bag over my panniers for me (don't think I could ride with a rucksack)

It's quite exciting planning!

On the Morecambe Bay route there’s a loo, view and a brew every 10 miles plenty of charge points. Could get the train to Barrow and cycle back round to Glasson Dock train back from Lancaster plenty of accommodation choice.

www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/the-bay-cycle-way

Whole route is 81 miles. But plenty of train stations enroute

We hired electric bikes along the waterfront in Barcelona. It was such a lovely thing to do in Oct - warm sun but not too sweaty!!

Piffpaffpoff · 18/01/2018 17:25

Bikes shops in Aviemore certainly do. I think there’s an ebike network around the Cairngormnational Park actually, I think it’s becoming more and more common.

We did Whitby Bay to Robin Hood's Bay over 2 days last summer - I think DH would like to do that again - the bridge with the railway below was amazing!
