Suggestions please

Suggestions for a ten day/two week holiday for myself, my partner, my ds (16) and my niece (15) in July. We would like somewhere relatively warm, near beaches, both teens are very sporty. Would like somewhere safe enough for them to wander about in the day. Will get car hire if necessary but good public transport would be preferable. Budget up to 5k ish not including spending money.
