Portugal’s silver coast

I’m thinking about two weeks on the Silver Coast this August, staying near Obidos. Has anyone been at this time of year? Would you recommend it? I’ve heard that the weather is not guaranteed even in August, that it can be misty/foggy/cloudy a lot. I don’t need 40 degree heat but i do want it to be warm. Any experiences anyone?

We've never been in August but in July several times. As it's on the coast it's always a bit cooler and windy. Sometimes there is fog or mist but it usually clears by midday.

You always need a card in the evening (after the stunning sunset)

One year in the first week of July we had 2 days of 19 but other than that mid 20s to mid 30's - so pretty variable. It's a lovely part of the country withpads to do within a decent drive.

But even 30 mins drive inland the temp is considerably hotter and I imagine Lisbon itself would be really hit in Aug.
