Reassurance on holiday booking to a wilder area

So we've book a beautiful and bargainous apartment just slightly away from corvavada in Portugal. This means it is close to 'the strip' !! We are hoping to stay away but need to be able to eat locally without being in the middle of a stag do.
Have any of you been here or to magaluf randomly or the like and managed with children?!!

Even in places like Magaluf and Benidorm there are usually places a couple of streets back that are much quieter and more authentic, so I would expect that it's the same in most places.

Go on Google maps for the area you are staying in and use streetview to check out the marked restaurants to get a feel for them. If it doesn't say 'Breakfast and a pint for 5 euro' or similar you will probably be OK.

That's kind of what I've been doing. That's fantastic thank you. X

Has anyone booked like this before?
We are in private apartments 5 minutes walk from the edge of the 'action'.
I can't wait for a sunny summer holiday.
If this has happened, what did you do to manage it?
