Family cycling holiday in Holland or Denmark?

Can anyone recommend the best way to do a cycling holiday in Holland or Denmark? Anyone know of any good cycling companies or is it best to stay in one place and hire bikes in a more relaxed style? It would be for a family of 4 including a teenager and 9 year old. Thank you.

Check out all of Josie Dew's writings about this. Must be lots & lots.

I would recommend the Netherlands over Denmark for a cycling holiday as they really cater to cyclists needs. A gorgeous place to cycle is the village of Giethoorn, which is often known as the Venice of the North! It is built on waterways with lots of quaint traditional houses. You can cycle along the river's edge or take a boat ride. I would thoroughly recommend it:

We did a Netherlands trip a few years ago with Freedom Treks. It's was cycling every day and sleeping/eating onboard a large barge that followed our route. The accomodation was pretty basic but the food good and cycling easy as our DC were 9 & 6 at the time.

There were families from all over Europe on the trip and all the kids got on amazingly well despite the language barriers.

Oooo I fancy that Freedom Treks thing...

Thanks for the suggestions-really helpful!

I love the sound of Giethoorn- sounds just what I'm looking for.

I hadn't realised that you cycle with other people for Freedom Treks. Do all the cyclists sleep on the same barge?

Yes, but you're all 2 bunk room so you have your own space. You don't have to share a dorm!
