Where in North America or Latin America with two children in August

We are going to South America to visit family in August and would like to do another trip for two weeks. We have been thinking of choosing one of the following places:

• Canada: British Columbia
• Costa Rica
• Peru: Machu Pichu
• Ecuador: Galapagos Islands
• Argentina
• Chile

Husband is keen on Machu Pichu. I am concerned about the altitude for the children. Children are 11 and 8. Canada may need more days and it would be winter in Chile and Argentina.

I would apprecite advice from people who have visited these countries/places.

we went to Oregon this summer for 3 weeks and had a fantastic time. we stayed in 3 different locations - top middle and bottom and there was loads of outdoor stuff for the kids to do as well as interesting things for us on first nations people, vineyards etc.

Canada - also brilliant - stay around Vancouver and go over to the island, Sechelt etc.

don't dismiss florida keys either weather will be good, its accessible and you can do a lot of things there as well.
