Just wondered if there any particular sights or activities that will appeal to our DC aged 11 and 7? We'll be staying on an agriturismo near Lucca. We do have a standing holiday agreement where I get to drag them round one art gallery of my choosing (the Uffizi this year) without complaint, but no more than one.

The Pinocchio Park in Collodi
Pistoia Zoo
Dolphin watching boat tours from Viareggio
Piccolo Mondo near Pisa - amusement and water park with go karts, inflatables etc...
Prehistoric Parc at Peccioli

Brilliant, thank you. Dolphon watching would definitely be up our street. I'll check out the other suggestions as well Smile.

I have family in Lucca so have spent time there with the DC's at various ages. In Lucca I would recommend hiring bikes and cycling round the walls, climb the Guinigi Tower, pizza in the amphitheatre and wandering down the Via Fillungo on a Sunday evening when everyone gets dressed up and comes out to be seen - great for people watching.

The Boboli Gardens in Florence has interesting artwork to find. Also a trip to the beach at Viareggio.

Excellent, thank you. We do like a tower to climb.

The Grand Tower in San Gimignano! One of my favourite places in the world. You can have an ice cream in the square later.

I second SG. Sienna is also worth a visit the square is beautiful. When we visited about 14 15 years ago their were various parades on and you could buy a slice of pizza and watch the world go by.
