DP is 50 this month. He wants us and the 3 dc (14, 9, 5) to go somewhere cold with snow (the youngest have never seen it) but not to ski. Weekend - after school Friday back Sunday. Any suggestions?

Finland - husky sleigh type trip?

CannotEvenThink · 03/01/2018 18:20

Lapland? Do husky or sleigh rides, maybe see the northern lights.

Lapland. Sledging, huskies, snow mobiles.

We like Levi in Finland

Um I think we stayed for 3 nights..... we flew with Norwegian airlines from Gatwick I think.

We stayed at the clarion collection hotel... right on the harbour with mountain views! It also had a free waffle time!!! Best part of the day... free waffles for all guests at 3pm yum! Lol

And try the huken pub too! It's like someone's weird frontroom and people great you like the sauna owner from frozen ..... you whoo

It's so different and not too touristy but has loads to do if you can get it all booked up. The weather was amazing - cold and snowy and light for about 3 hours! Brilliant shops!

Can you tell we enjoyed it!! X

I have looked st Tromso and the flight is too long for a weekend away.
Any other recommendations anyone? Would ideally like a about a 2 hour flight from a London airport. Somewhere with snow but don't need a ski resort?

Ruka Finland was fab. 20min transfer at the other end. Stay in a log cabin in the woods.
