I think that my ideal holiday would be in a villa (we like our space!) but sort of attached to a small resort, preferably with some childrens club activity (for a couple of hours a day - not a Mark Warner type of affair) or at least a guaranteed supply of 4-7yo boys for the dcs to play with for a while. On my dreamlist I'd have a private heated pool as well as possibly access to a shared one. Also like my modcons so decent TV/DVD setup preferred. A nice restaurant nearby would be nice. Would also trade childrens club for one or two nights babysitting.

We have a 2 week halfterm in October hence looking at somewhere slightly warmer. Does anyone by any chance have any inspiration?

Thomsonfly go from Gatwick to Cape Verde. There might be other departure points i'm not aware of?

We went to the Dunas Suite hotel in Gran Canaria (Maspalomas) last December, and it was fab. Would really recommend it. Had a lovely 2 bedroom villa, spacious grounds, great restaurant (we were 1/2 board which was a real treat), near beach. It was very quiet when we were there, and several pools to pick from. In December it was early 20's, but October could be a bit warmer. Can't do links, try this:

pricessa yaiza suite hotel in playa blanca, lanzarote, has fab huge 2 bed apts, but with a v limited (kitchenette). right on the beach. kids club and fantastic breakfast included. look on sovereign holidays' website.
