Jamaica - Hilton Rose Hall or Jewel Runaway Bay ?

Looking at booking one of these two for next Dec school holiday. Have 2 kids will be 16 and 14.

Is one beach nicer than the other? What are the differences, JRB is more expensive but further from airport.

Interesting to see your post! We have stayed at Jewel (2 years ago now) but not at the Hilton. We were considering the Hilton last year because we needed to be in Mo Bay. Jewel was a big hit and wanted something similar.

Jewel had all the facilities we wanted (sports mad son) and the most stunning beach (but spent most of our time by the pools). On paper, it is directly comparable to the Hilton but the Hilton looks more luxe in the pictures (but bear in mind I’m comparing what I have experienced at the Jewel with photos of the Hilton). Jewel accommodation was perfectly adequate but a bit tired. Food was hit and miss. The staff made it. Great kids club and entertainment team.

We are thinking of going next year and will probably consider Hilton over the Jewel. It will be nice not to transfer! What are the prices like in December school hols??

We stayed at the jewel last summer and had the best holiday
We have two eight year olds and this was the perfect resort for us.The staff were all lovely very friendly and went out of their way to make sure you were enjoying your holiday.
The on site watermark was great and we could always get a sunbed there at anytime of the day.
We really enjoyed the food all the restaurant are good and no reservations are needed just turn up.This really suited us as we like to just see how we feel on the day and not have to plan our days too far in advance.yiu only need to make reservations at the Japanese restaurant but this was very easy to do and lovely food.
It is not a big resort, everything is in easy walking distance and the buffet restaurant in just steps from the beach with great views.
We upgraded to a private plunge pool room in our second week and I wish we had done it earlier as it was lovely.
I wouldn't hesitate to return to this resort, I'm currently looking for somewhere to go this coming summer and I'm very tempted to go back but will probably go somewhere else as we like to try different places.

We've stayed at Jewel Paradise Cove which is the adult only one down the road from Jewel Runaway Bay and I can't recommend it highly enough, we will definitely return some day!
