St Gervais les Bains /Chamonix in the summer

Hi what’s St Germain les Bains like on the summer? It looks cheaper than Chamonix. We really just want to walk and swim and chill out. Having supermarkets / bakeries nearby would be ideal.

Also would you need to hire a car? If you didn’t is it easy to get from Geneva airport, especially considering the times of easy jet flights...

Try Morzine. Similar, cheap and easy transfers from Geneva.

We've stayed in Chamonix in the summer-accomodation was not hugely expensive as we booked through homeaway. Parking can be a real nightmare though we found! From memory there were lots of minibus transfers from Geneva airport so may be worth looking into that? Loads to see and do in the mountains and plenty of restaurants and bars that were fine with children in the evening we found..

Totally agree. We did a last minute day trip from Geneva to Chamonix and plenty of minibus transfers available. We went from central Geneva (free and easy to get to) but they leave from the airport as well.

The easyjet flights we used (from Luton) arrived mid-morning and left late afternoon. What times are you looking at?
