Where to fly cheaply?

We normally do ferry/ self drive holidays as with 4dc flight costs add up, but fancy a change both to save us the driving time and because the dc would love to go on a plane.
I have no idea where to start. We’ve been to France Italy Germany Austria and Holland recently. Any suggestions as to which routes are more affordable for air travel? I’ve looked at sky scanner but you have to enter departure and arrival airports- we can drive anywhere in uk to fly from and I’ve no idea where we want to go! I’d like to try somewhere new ideally. I’d rather not buy a package holiday as I’m pretty good at finding bargain accommodation, and packages seem so expensive. Thanks

The Skyscanner app lets you select UK flying to everywhere on any date if you are that flexible.

I personally though would be looking at airports closer to home to fly from.

Moneysavingexpert has a flight finder where you can put in a maximum price and see what comes up.

It's not always related to distance. We've been to the Canaries for £30 PP return. Ryanair are often the cheapest but not always. If you are in southern England, BA do well priced flight plus hotel deals.

What about Billund in Denmark. You can fly cheaply from Stansted with Ryanair and there's a Center Parcs type place and the original Legoland plus you can hire a car or get the bus to the coast an hour away. Or other parts of Denmark obviously.

Or you could fly to Northern Spain and stay in a Eurocamp type place and also visit Barcelona.

On skyscanner I enter the whole month I'm looking at, and 'everywhere' for the destination, to get the best deals.

Flights to Malaga are normally pretty cheap. Plenty of places to stay away from the major resorts if you're happy to shop around.

also have a look at momondo. we have found flights cheaper on this website than on skyscanner. you can do a pot luck search as well.

Like everyday I would suggest malaga too.

I didn't know about the MSE flight finder, I'm off for a wee play on that.
