Hi. Does anybody have any experience of travelling around Tuscany on public transport with a 18 month old? We are going for 3 nights with 2 nights in Florence first. Don't want to drive so its going to have to be train, bus or taxis. Are they safe for small children? Can you get trains/buses from Florence to Greve?

No experience of that part of Italy. bahn.hafas.de (it has an english site) is good for European train info and times. Would have thought Italian trains would be fine for an 18 month old.

No train station in Greve in Chianti but think there are buses from Florence. You can train to Siena but its a bus / taxi ride up to the centre. .How about train ride to the coast Viareggio beach ?

Thanks. I'll look into the bus, hope the journey isn't too long. Viareggio Beach sounds nice but we have paid accommodation for 3 nights in Greve for a friends wedding!

Hi Have looked and the SITA buses go there It is line 368 but when I try to get the times the site closes down. Greve is nice but getting anywhere from there on public transport will be bendy !! There are a few little places maybe not too far Castellina/ Radda but they are pretty small to be honest.

Try adding a title to your message and you might get more response. Sorry can't help on this one but "opened" it out of curiosity as it says "untitled"

For travelling on public transport with toddlers, I recommend using some sort of back toddler carrier such as the ergo backpack, and a fold up umbrella pushchair.
