Staying in Alcudia hiring a car, what to go and see?

Another majorca question. We're going for 1st time with children 9 & 5 at the end of May & staying in ALcudia. We're hiring a car to get to & from airport as it seems the same price as a taxi! Don't intend to spend the whole hol driving around but any particular must sees/dos? Both children love swimming & i hear there are a few waterparks on the island?
Thanks

Cap de Formentor is worth the drive, think there is beach access about half way up the road.

Drive through the mountains and go to Soller - little train ride is brill.
Drive down the east coast - lots of places to see.

A drive up to Porto Pollensa and come to think of it a drive into Palma too.

the water park near alcudia is huge and has animals, from memory really good! there is another waterpark near magaluf, smaller but still nice but it is right next to the pirates show which is apparently really good. It is on the opposite side of the island so quite a drive but you could combine the two. the caves of drach are nice, very pretty.

Hi Theresa,

We enjoyed the Caves of Drach and the Pirates show as well. Best to go on a trip to Pirates as it is quite a long way there and back (especially after the all the "free" sangria).

Hi,
We enjoyed the Caves at Campanet which is very nr Alcudia, smaller than Drach but quieter, less expensive and lovely position. Also Deya and Valdemosa are worth a drive. One of our favourites though was to drive from Pollensa up the mountain road towards Soller, there is a lovely little restaurant with a view point, we always stop there for freshly squeezed orange juice, as you leave there there is a sign to a village called Fornalux, just the prettiest little village I have seen, wish I were going!
