Need somewhere nice (self-catering) for Mid-may with a 1 year old - France ideally, or this country would be fine

We were going to go away in June, but dh can't get away then, so it has to be mid-May. Anywhere I like is booked up, so I need recommendations.

It has to be self-catering, baby-friendly (proper cot, highchair etc), not too primitive (I don't do caravans or camping), and with some degree of privacy and seclusion.

We'd like Northern France, but it could be Cornwall, Norfolk, Wales, anywhere really. I'd prefer to drive than to fly, but we could fly from Luton if need be. DS travels for a max of about 4 hours before getting unbearable, so that is a factor in location (we're in Herts).

Help!

Hm, well we stayed in a lovely gite near Maubeuge, about an hour east of Lille.
So it's possibly a bit further than you want.
If you are interested, CAT me.
It has a proper cot (wooden one not one of those bizarre rusting metalwork jobbies I have come across more than once), two bathrooms and is a very pleasant and comfortable barn conversion.
It is not totally private in that across the courtyard and lovely garden lives the family which owns it. A friendlier, nicer family you could not find though. Truly.
