dds are 2 (3 by then) and 6. We've never been to Portugal and quite fancy giving it a go but can't work out whether it'll be too hot in the Summer holiday or too cool at half term. Does it depend on whether we go North or South? Anywhere particularly to recommend? Thanks for any help

May is when it really starts hotting up and so the half term at the end of May would be very similar to a nice summer's day in the UK. Summer in the Lagos area can be windy, which might mean you don't feel the heat as much, but I'd go in May if you've got the choice.
