Looking for a nice campsite/holiday village with decent mobile homes or proper houses, communal pool and other facilities, that we can fly-drive to.
Will most likely be in France (if so want Mediterranean coast this time as we did Atlantic last year) but would be nice to consider anywhere in northern spain, italy, croatia etc.

Need to
-be within an hour or so of an airport with cheap flights
-have waterslides
-other stuff for 5 and 3 yo kids to do, ideally a kids club
-have aircon in the accommodation (didn't do this last year and was big mistake)
-in a nice local area with plenty of stuff to see nearby) as my husband will not be keen on staying on site the whole time
-probably not in a big built up resort. Don't mind driving a bit to the beach etc.

Bella italia - lake garda. Close enough to walk into the nearest traditional town and lots of activities for children.

I stayed at this place a couple of years ago and loved it www.var-camping.eu/en/ It's about 1.5 hours drive from Marseilles. We took the Eurostar direct from London (v cheap if you book now for next summer) and then hired a car.

Look at Domaine de Sevenier- doesn't quite tick all your boxes but almost- feel free to pm me

bothearly · 29/11/2017 17:24

But nowhere near a beach!

Frazzled2207 · 29/11/2017 17:43

Thank you all
One in Var- thanks will be on the list
Bella Italia -yes this is the kind of thing I want but i can only find suitable flights to venice which are very expensive
Domaine de sevenier-looks lovely but not close enough to an airport don't think.

Have a look at Camping La Rocca, on lake Garda. You can get cheap flights to Verona, which is about an hour away.
Twenty minute beach side walks to two nearest towns, kids club, good supermarket and another 'beach goods/holiday stuff shop onsite, also restaurant and club. Swimming pool and lakeside 'beach'. Lots of places to see, boat trips, mountain cable car within easy distance. Well managed site, it's big and very popular though.

Sorry am new to campsites what is the usual deal regarding linen and towels, are they provided or otherwise available? If flying don't want to take our own!

Usually French ones don't seem to provide as standard but can normally pay extra to rent them.

bothearly · 29/11/2017 20:00

You can get a direct train from London to Avignon which is way nicer than flying if you live anywhere near London.

Frazzled2207 · 29/11/2017 20:03

Great I don't mind paying extra for them just don't want to have to pack them.

Yeah I would love the train idea but unfortunately we're not in the north west which adds too much time-will try it anyway though when kids are less fidgety
