New York Airbnb or similar recommendations

Hi, we are 5 adults and 18m old going to NYC. Looking for recommendation of whole apartment close to transport links. If you can recommend anywhere, please let me know

I believe that Air BnBs are illegal in New York- manhatten, Brooklyn etc. Something to do with subletting laws, so if you did find one it's entirely possible your travel insurance would be invalid if it was broken into etc

Unfortunately the laws on such things are very strict in NYC and short term rentals of 30 days or less throughout the five boroughs are illegal. You will need to find a hotel accommodation instead.

Craigs List might have something suitable.

Look on the Tripadvisor New York forum. It’s clear that sub letting us illegal whether through Airbnb Craigslist or other routes. There are stories of people who’ve paid for rentals just to find that they don’t exist when they get there. And they have no come back as the rental was illegal.

You’d be beat to listen to the advice of the previous poster and look for a hotel instead.

Finding an actual legal apartment rental in NYC is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. You are wasting your time looking and will need to find hotel accommodation instead. How will you know a listing is legitimate; the short answer is that you will not.
