Holiday in April. 7 nights in Albufeira or 4 nights in Malaga?

Hello all.

I am trying to surprise the DP with a holiday to either Albufeira Portugal or Malaga Spain in April. I can afford either 7 nights in former or 4 nights the latter.

I understand that Malaga will have more going on especially in beginning of April. But I cant shake the idea that 4 nights would not be enough. It's very hard to book holidays on a budget as she is a teacher and we can only go in school holidays. I will be booking room only, so cheap restaurants would be great. Most important thing would be the weather though.

I am very inexperienced travelling,so please be gentle!

have a look at a couple of websites:

accuweather - type in the name of the town and the country, search on April 2017 to see what the weather is like at that time of year

Momondo and travelrepublic websites are good for cheap flights and cheap deals but you need to delete your cookies regularly.

I've been to both at Easter and experienced very similar weather.
We're going to Malaga/Costa del Sol this Easter, as it's cheaper than the Algarve for the dates we're looking for.

I'd avoid Malaga city over the Easter weekend, unless you want to see the Easter parades, as it'll be packed with locals and tourists. I'd also avoid Albufeira new town, as it's not pleasant! The old town is fine, but not as nice as Malaga imo. Palma Majorca, is also worth visiting for a short break.
