Quick question - renewing child passport - does it have to be renewed within 6 months of expiry?

Would you believe it I can't actually find an answer to this question on the Home Office passport website. We may have to travel abroad in a couple of weeks time. dd's passport expires in Aug (4 months time) so should it be renewed?

depends on where you are going. If its EU then no as long as you return within the time that the passport runs out.

If its further afield you may need to renew I know the states and Aus require 6 months on passport after return date
