Lanzarote 15 min transfer from airport- not sure what to take booster/ carseat?

Ds is 4 in July 14 weighing 14kgs. We have arranged for a hire firm to pick us up at Lanzarote airport which is apparently a 15 min drive ( puerto del carmen). Not sure if we should take our normal car seat ( 5 point harness) or booster seat ( just the seat without a back). I am leaning towards our normal carseat as is the safer option. What would you take?

Booster seat, much smaller.

lol, dd1 was 2.8 when we went to lanzarote. we used backless booster. i must be a bad mum!

Are you going to drive around while there, or is it just this 15-minute drive, twice for the holiday?

I'd be inclined to just take the booster seat, as it's a one off. I know others would choose differently.

(If you can get a bus, there's less risk of a sudden stop, so car seats etc aren't an issue.)

If that's the only car/bus riding you are planning on doing, I wouldn't take either and just put your ds on a couple of folded up beach towels or something. The main role of a booster is to boost the child upwards so that the seatbelt goes across his chest instead of neck. Towels are slipply and wouldn't do for an extended journey or multiple journies, but for 15 min they are just fine. IMO.

(We did a hotel transfer in Ireland without a car seat for either child. But DS2, who is 2.5, was in only a lap belt, which is probably better? We took a bus to get back to the airport.)

a booster seat is NOT to boost upwards so seatbelt gos over shoulder rather than neck...

its is to put the lap belt safely over the lap... not the stomach and all the vital organs around that area of the body
