AI in Greece

Me and DH fancy somewhere in Greece (poss Crete?) for our next family holiday. It's very overdue and we want a bit of TLC so for the first time ever we are thinking of all-inclusive. The dc are 4 and 10 and we would like some things for them to do on site and to be somewhere where we can explore some historical sites / pretty villages. Definitely somewhere on the quiet side.

Can anyone give me any recommendations?

We went AI for the first time last summer when our DDs were 7 and 12. We stayed at the Marbella hotel www.marbella.gr I would highly recommend it as the food was lovely, the cocktails were fab, the service was great and it was very relaxing. Once a week they have an open air cinema evening by the pool, where the sun loungers become cinema seats and there's plenty of popcorn on offer. The hotel has several (free) boat trips available including a trip into Corfu town, or alternatively there's a cheap and frequent bus service.

Next summer we're off to the Princess Andriana in Rhodes m.princessandriana.com which looks excellent too. There are lots of ancient sites to visit on Rhodes. Good luck with your search!

Ah - we love Crete, been the last few years and always something new to do or see.
We stayed here and it was excellent but possibly a bit too lively for you, although your kids would prob love it.

We have been over a dozen times to Rhodes. Please dont shudder when I say Faliraki! The resort used to be crazy but the last time we went 4 years ago they had made massive changes. This year the hotels have had 99% occupancy in Rhodes. Lovely island with something for every age.

You can find great all-inclusive hotels in Greece.
Try looking at travelicita.com/hotels
They have great prices for some of the best hotels.

Thank you for all the responses! The Marbella looks great but may be a bit pricy for us. I'm also trying to make a judgement about location - don't know enough about Greece to know where is relatively unspoilt ...

Sensatori Crete . Fab for families and lots to explore (it’s in a small village but not too far away from lots of towns , historical sites etc)
