Hi all

I have just booked some super cheap flights for Alghero in May.
Anyone have recommendations for accommodation/restaurants/activities?

Ideally would like somewhere easy to navigate without a car, so close-ish to the town centre AND a beach. Pool would be a bonus.

Thank you in advance!

Ooo, been there twice. A few years ago now but I'll return with some ideas!

After siesta, join the locals for an evening stroll and get an ice cream. Lots of people out eating (late) and walking around. For pizza, we loved Lu Ferat and last time we were there they were opening up a larger restaurant space next door. Really friendly owners and the man speaks fluent English so its nice to have a chat if your Italian is not great. Cafe Fruit Bar was lovely for evening drinks or morning coffee. The Irish Pub on via Miaorca is woth a visit. The owner is not Irish! But loves Irish pubs.

We took a trip on a boat called the Andrea Jensen around Cappo Caccia. Leaves from the harbour abd makes stops throughput the day for swimming. Its an old fishing boat and takes a small number of people.

I want to go back now!

We stayed in a villa outside Alghero Summer 16. We loved it. Asleep is beautiful with loads of lovely restaurants in the Old Town. We ended up doing 2 day trips on the Andrea Jenson as we loved it so much the first day. Plenty of other boat trips whee they ram as many people as possible on but for us it was worth the expense for the wonderful experience in the Andrea Jenson. They're on Facebook and check out their reviews on Trip Advisor. We loved visiting the caves, can't remember their name right now.

We bought the Lonely Planet guidebook and looked at that every evening for idea for the next day, made great use of our hire car.

Would love to go back!
