Travel insurance

DS is going away with college for 5 weeks in January, home for one week, then back to the same place for another 5 weeks.
Will I have to get two separate travel insurances?

I’ve found an annual policy to be the best option sometimes

Thanks ems.
He is on our family annual policy for other trips but that policy doesn't cover him as he is travelling without us.

I called a uk based company in the end and just got the two quotes; cheaper doing it individually on this occasion.
