Puglia or Tuscan coast?

I'm looking for a week in Italy next May for a family of 4, two children will be 4 1/2 and nearly 1

I've narrowed it down to puglia and the Tuscan coast. Which should I pick?

I'm probably going for airbnb or similar, hoping to be car free but can hire a car if needed. Mainly want to potter down to the beach, see some beautiful scenery and ideally some ancient stuff. Not very fussy...

Thanks

Both are beautiful. I prefer the beaches in Puglia (smaller, low key, quieter), but I prefer the scenery in Tuscany. There is more life in coastal Tuscany, but then you might also be tempted to drive further afield as there is so much to see (Pisa, Lucca, Florence).

So, I would go to wherever you find the best accomodation, because I always struggle with decent accomodation in Italy
