Long haul in July?

Can anyone suggest a good long haul destination in July for a family of four with two teenagers? The medhotels are so expensive. I like the look of Mauritius but want to avoid monsoon downpours.

Florida keys, west coast of Canada, Vancouver and the rockies or we have just been to Oregon with our teens and had an amazing trip. - swimming in crystal clear lakes, lots of walks, sailing, white water rafting, trips to first nation culture, we went to a rodeo, in caves, to vineyards and a huge lot of other stuff. great place.

We went to Cape Town last summer. It was great. Loads to do including a short safari. Extremely cheap as it their winter (18 degrees) - £11 a day for car hire, £275 for a 2 bed apartment with pool for all 4 of us. We had a stop over, somewhere hot on the way. It was a fab 2 centre holiday... with no jet lag!

The weather in Mauritius is poor in July - you will have better weather in the UK. We have had great weather holidays in Barbados and Mexico in July.

We too went to cap town in July. It was warm but not sunbathing weather but plenty to see so you don't need to sunbathe!

July is peak season in Bali - that means good, dry weather but higher prices (unfortunately).

Canada, Oregon, North California, New England, Alaska, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, etc. All would be great.
