Help! I need suggestions for a day out in Birmingham which will appeal to 4 children/Teens and Grandparents. Preferably not costing the earth! Am I searching for the impossible?!?

Lots to do in canon hill park - golf, rides, playgrounds, wildlife park

Caulk · 21/10/2017 11:24

Martineau gardens, botanical gardens, Cannon Hill (crazy golf)
Trip on the canal
The library
Selly Manor
Back to Backs
Electric cinema

It depends where you are going and how you’re getting there tbh as you don’t want to park in town all day, but if you’re getting the train then some of the places will be hard to get to

Helenluvsrob · 21/10/2017 11:46

Depends on what you like.

The art gallery is great.

The museum of the jewellery quarter is bril with grand parents in tow - lots of “ oh interesting” and “ my mother had that /used that “ chats.

Further out and outside - botanical gardens , winterborne house and gardens and of course Cadbury world ( bleurgh imho)

Thanks guys.
We are based in Solihull so think we will get the train in to the centre.
Like the look of the BBC visitors centre.
Have also seen that the library has a Harry Potter exhibition on.
Canal sounds like a plan too.
Will look at the others

The Cereal Killer Cafe for a late breakfast (kids love it), the art gallery, library, New Street Station shops, Selfridges (kids love the ground floor), cinema.

honeymoonpyjamas · 21/10/2017 19:21

From Solihull you could just as easy get the train to Warwick or Leamington Spa

suepowell · 10/11/2017 22:31

Take them to Lake District instead. I am sure the kids would love it.
