Centre parcs Hollands - swimming

Looking on the web site for Centre Parts, it mentions you need a swimming certificate of at least B standard to do some activities. Does anyone know what the uk equivelent be?

Stayed at 3 different ones never been asked for a swimming certificate

When we went the lifeguards were making kids demonstrate they could swim about 10metres or else insisting that they wore a bouyancy aid.
