No frills Brittany Ferries - OK?

Bit late to ask as I have already booked! Has anyone been on the " no frills" Brittany Ferries service from UK to Spain? Just me and DP, we have an outside cabin, not bothered about entertainment, but is it really basic/ uncomfortable?

We went Portsmouth to Santander last June. Found the cabin fine as only really slept there, spent most of the time in the cafes/restaurants or strolling round the ship. Cabin was clean, had a toilet and shower and the beds were reasonably comfy, but it depends what level of luxury you're used to! We were definitely ready to get off after 24hours, going on a cruise is not for me! :)

Thanks Eleanor, that's very helpful. I love the idea of travelling by boat, but have never done it for more than about 12 hours!

We were also very lucky that it was flat calm going across the Bay of Biscay, dolphins swimming next to the boat as we ate breakfast... But can imagine it could potentially not be so pleasant if it's windy! Fingers crossed the weather is kind to you. Have a lovely trip :)

Thanks! I haven't mentioned the possibility of seasickness to DP!

Have used it to get to France a couple of times, with children, and found it absolutely fine. It's very basic but then I find the standard cabins fairly basic anyway.
The biggest difference I noticed with the eco ferry was that there was no carpet in the cabin! Although MIL who used the eco line shortly after us said she had carpet so...
But no, they're Absolutely fine, no frills but ime clean and tidy, somewhere to lay your head, read a book, have something to eat etc no worries.

Had a gorgeous Boeuf Bourguignon on one of the eco ferries. I thought it was completely fine (was only from France). Would be no problem adults only to Spain.

Thank you both, CakeNinja and Edith. Boeuf Bourguignon, yum!
