Hi!! Quite excited about flying to Valencia for our anniversary and would love to hear from you about things to do with a 3.9 years old boy (the other one, 7 m, will happily follow). Are there any nice museums or parks or ?, what about the beaches (that?s for ME!!), which one would you recommend? And a very ?sickly sweet? romantic restaurant for our anniversary evening if we manage to leave the kids with a sitter at the hotel!!
So ?. Tell me!!! Lory

Hi Lory, We went to Valencia last week with our 7,5 and 22 month old. We were visiting family just outside Valencia, but because of the unusually wet weather went to Valencia 3 of the days.
There is a lovely beach in Valencia a mile or so from the old town. Just follow signs for the port. The sand is perfect for children and the sea was really clean. There is good climbing equipment on the beach for kids of all ages. There are also some good restaurants although they were quite pricey.
There is a fantastic aquarium,Oceanarium. We were there all day. It has lots to see in it and is both indoors and out. Next to this there is the science museum which our boys loved. It had a great interactive section for 3 and ups which was made up like a construction site. Our boys played in it for over an hour.
We didn't go to the new art gallery next door but have heard that is really good too.
Outside Valencia,an hour away there are some mountains where you can go for great walks with children. There are rivers to play in and there seem to be many places you can bbq out in the open with good playgrounds attached.
There is a really nice park that runs through the city. It was the old river which was reorientated in the 50's due to flooding.
Old Valencia is really beautiful with magnificent architecture. We have been before with children for Las Fallas festival. We were restricted in what we could do, but the bars and restaurants looked fantastic, and you will have loads to choose from for your special meal.
I would love to go back again to experience a bit of the nightlife. Hope you all have a great time!!!

Wow Mimizan, that sounds great. I love the idea of the science museum. I don?t think we will see much of Valencia?s nightlife, we are already having a pretty wild nightlife lately with DS2 teething, so I would rather try the Spanish siesta !!
Thank you very much, I am sure it will be fantastic!!
