Ideas for family (who are difficult!) winter break

Hoping for some new ideas...

I live in London and my Dad, stepmother and 14 yr old half brother are in Ireland. Every year we have the same challenge - how to find a break that suits us all when all my brother really wants to do is sit at his computer and my Dad is nearing 70. After years of trying to come up with ideas, I'm all out of them. So much easier when bro was younger...

They have been to London a lot so does anyone have any other ideas of somewhere we could meet for a Christmas/New Year break?

What about Edinburgh! Www.edinburghschristmas.com and www.edinburghshogmanay.com for details of lots of events going on over the festive season as well as the usual attractions of castle, museums etc, something for everyone! Also easy to fly from most places direct.
