Hiya.

I'm 13 weeks and husband and I are hoping to catch a bit of sunshine end of Oct-early November. I've looked into Turkey as its not too far away, cheap & cheerful and will be warmer than here however a lot of the deals are around coastal, resort and pool type. Its not really my cup of tea as I'd like somewhere where I can walk around, explore and learn more about the culture.

Do you know of anything meeting the above criteria?

Are there any other places you would recommend? Anything else to bear in mind?

Thanks x

Even if you choose a coastal resort you can still explore and take in the culture. Bodrum is a lovely town, plenty to see and do and at the end of October most of the tourists have gone so you will get a much more authentic feel to the place.

Otherwise, yes Istanbul is wonderful or you could look at Izmir.

I was in Istanbul in early Nov last year. It was very cold and rainy. I adore it as a city but don't go there for guaranteed warmth at that time of year. I would imagine the coastal weather would also be unreliable in early Nov. If warmth is a deal breaker then research carefully before booking Turkey.

Thanks @SooticaTheWitchesCat

@Acidophilus Hmm. Thanks for the heads up. Not so sure now.

Has anyone been to Marrakech?
...Again cheap & cheerful and around Oct/Nov?
