Can anyone recommend a hotel for 2 adults and 2 children in Bruges either close to the centre or easy to get to.

Also where do you park and is it expensive?

what sort of hotel are you looking for - basic? Budget...There are loads of gorgeous B and B in Bruges, or the novetel is brilliant for a budget but nice room, parking right by hotel ( public) good for the center of the town.

I think parking all day and night was 9 euro at novetel but will ask husband room was about 90 euros booked in advance will look for b and b where we stayed too it was lovely but pricey about 150 euro or more the night.

Bruges isn't huge and the vast majority of hotels are in easy walking distance of the centre. Not a recommendation (quite the opposite) - but avoid the Hotel Koffieboontje whatever the great rate - it's probably the most revolting place I've stayed outside of youth hostels!

Hahahaha oh dear SJane. That's exactly where dh booked. I told him to wait for the poster of mumsnet, but did he listen...

Oh well wish us luck!

Hi Spadequeen - ah sorry & oh no! Maybe you'll like it more than we did?! Is it cancellable? If so, do look at other options. We had 2 single beds that were pushed together which seperated during the night, the bathroom sink was leaking underneath & flooded the bathroom, a couple of lights were broken and the balcony was littered with fag butts. The breakfast was really nice but the area outside the breakfast room stank of sewage. I'm fine with budget hotels but this was pretty grotty! It is very centrally located though - couldn't be better! Hope you get a better room than we did! My DH booked this - in some ways I was quite pleased it was pretty vile as he's always moaning about the budget hotels I book & this pretty much took the biscuit! This was 2 years ago though and they may have improved their act since.

Brugges is very small and charming all over so most things will be quite close to the centre. There were a couple of large hotels on the square but if you are looking for something quieter choose a holiday let-there are plenty to choose from. Enjoy your trip!

We stayed at the Karos hotel www.florishotelkarosbrugge.be a couple of years ago. It was not fancy, but reasonably priced, had a pool and a little kids corner with some toys etc. Not sure about parking as we just walked everywhere, it wasn't far from the centre.

It's only for one night. How bad can it be?😩

What What a shame I found most accommodation in bruges was of such a high standard. It's a shame as there is strong style there and staying in b and b is part of experience
