Xmassy Santa trip

Feel like treating the family can anyone recommend a location/holiday . I'm thinking December departure.....

Does it has to include Santa? If not I would go for a German Christmas market. Nurnberg, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, all larger cities do great ones and you can normally go around by public transport to some other towns nearby or do general sightseeing on top of it.

They all run until Christmas Eve, smaller towns may only have a market for a long weekend.

Dc are 11 and 8 so feel a Santa related trip would be good....
